30 Hours

Three sessions, one practice, one gig, four meals, one rest, eight hundred and ninety eight photos, two and a quarter hours of footage, alot of driving and alot of waves, thirty hours.

Ferg-maybe a little bit bigger then 6-8 foot

Nice thing to wake up to

5.45 Saturday- cold, tired, packed and ready to go. Just after six we were on the road. Half an hour later we were on the cliff top watching huge lumps of water heaving onto shallow reef. We watched for a while. The cliff got crowded with interested participants and with the first sign of a ski rounding the corner it was empty again.

As we walked down along the reef we saw one of the English lads get slammed on a solid one. It was grey, waves were about 6-8 foot and there was alot of water moving, still there was a lot of people out.

I shot video for a while then the tide got too low and the line up cleared. Onto spot number two for the day.

We grabbed a quick lunch when we got back to Lahinch then got back on the road. When we got to the cliffs it was crazy how many people were there. About 15 guys in the water and about another 30 consisting of photographers, videographers and viewers spread out along the cliff.

I made my way down along the cliff and started setting up. It was a solid 8 foot on the set with a few bigger ones coming through. After about 30 minutes of shooting video my battery died, despite my quick charge at lunch, and I shot stills for the rest of the day. When the line up started to clear again I made the trek back up along the cliff. Trek being the key word in that sentence.

I had to skip the evening session to go play music. Thankfully adrenaline kicked in and I had energy throughout practice.

That night I went to just show face at a friends gig and go straight home. Unfortunately they turned out to be really good and I ended up staying for the whole gig not getting home till about 1.30.

Not too sure who this is. Anyone?

It was awesome.
