Bucko, Grant and myself went on a desperate search for waves a few days ago. Found a two foot wave that ended with me hitting my housing off the reef (camera and housing still alive). When you haven't been in the water in a while its crazy how excited you get over two foot.

Halloween
Halloween for me was different this year. Instead of dressing up I got sick, and instead of going out I moped about the house thinking I was going to die and felt sorry for myself. I thought jumping in the water would cure me but it didnt exactly help. Did get some nice shots out of it do even with a runny nose and a dizzy head.

30 Hours
Three sessions, one practice, one gig, four meals, one rest, eight hundred and ninety eight photos, two and a quarter hours of footage, alot of driving and alot of waves, thirty hours.
Ferg-maybe a little bit bigger then 6-8 foot
Nice thing to wake up to
5.45 Saturday- cold, tired, packed and ready to go. Just after six we were on the road. Half an hour later we were on the cliff top watching huge lumps of water heaving onto shallow reef. We watched for a while. The cliff got crowded with interested participants and with the first sign of a ski rounding the corner it was empty again.
As we walked down along the reef we saw one of the English lads get slammed on a solid one. It was grey, waves were about 6-8 foot and there was alot of water moving, still there was a lot of people out.
I shot video for a while then the tide got too low and the line up cleared. Onto spot number two for the day.
We grabbed a quick lunch when we got back to Lahinch then got back on the road. When we got to the cliffs it was crazy how many people were there. About 15 guys in the water and about another 30 consisting of photographers, videographers and viewers spread out along the cliff.
I made my way down along the cliff and started setting up. It was a solid 8 foot on the set with a few bigger ones coming through. After about 30 minutes of shooting video my battery died, despite my quick charge at lunch, and I shot stills for the rest of the day. When the line up started to clear again I made the trek back up along the cliff. Trek being the key word in that sentence.
I had to skip the evening session to go play music. Thankfully adrenaline kicked in and I had energy throughout practice.
That night I went to just show face at a friends gig and go straight home. Unfortunately they turned out to be really good and I ended up staying for the whole gig not getting home till about 1.30.

TUESDAY
It turns out that I know have tuesdays off college. With this, I now have a three in seven chance of scoring waves during the week without skipping college. Last week turned out in my favor for getting waves while not missing too much college.
Dubber getting some video footage

Little Empty
Unlike the rest of the week I actually got to sleep in on Tuesday morning. We were waiting till the afternoon to get in the water so I did absolutely nothing for the morning. It was awesome. Just about after one Ollie collected me from my house and we got going, first making a few quick stops for boards, extra camera equipment and an extra camera man, then onto rainy grey waves.
Tom on a sick one

We rocked up to find a load of people already on the reef so we didn't waste much time waiting to see a set. When we got down to the wave I quickly threw my camera into the housing and jumped into my wettie. I was running towards the wave when I realized that I had timed my entry horrendously bad, a quick sprint back to safty and one set later I was in the water.
Little heavy one
Hugo pulling in
100 barrels later I had another fun experience trying this time to get out of the water. Getting caught in the rip twice before finally getting out. On land I did a bit of video for a while. Unfortunately towards the end of the session Hugo took a bad fall hurting his leg, keeping him out of the water over the weekend. I also found out the next day after I left that Alec got caught inside by a set and snapped his board. Apparently it also took him three tries to get in.
Stupid rip!!

Under world
Its awesome underwater, lots of crazy stuff to look at. Normally when I shoot in the water if I sit really deep I just get nailed constantly and run out of energy really quick. But this day about two weeks ago I was having so much fun swimming under waves. Didn't actually get a shot to really sum up how much fun I was having under water but found these two shots I like.

Swimming
I was home bored about three weeks ago and decided I would go for a swim before it got dark. I bumped into my mate nick on the way who was also going into the water, then another mate, then another. By the end of it my casual swim turned into a bit of a party in the middle of the bay. It was awesome.
Woody got bored of swimming so started flying. How can you get bored of swimming?
Before nick flipped the kayak over he told me that he wasnt too sure if he could flip it back over with out the paddle so if it seemed like he has been underwater for a while go get the paddle. fast.
The flipping paddle.

WIPEOUT-part 1
Surfing magazine do a page every month called , wipeout, and it shows exactly that, the months heaviest wipeout. Last Monday I say I must have taken about fifty photos of guys getting thrown from the lip and couldn't stop thinking of surfing magazines wipeout section so decided to make my own. So for the first issue of Jimbo's wipeout section I am proud to announce:
Pete not exactly making the drop but doing exactly what you should do on this crazy shallow slab, go head first.
Ollie taking off a bit late-he got pounded!! Would have been a sick wave to make do.
No idea who this is but I think its a sick fall. He looked like he was about to stick the drop but the nose seemed to dig and he got thrown. Also pounded.
This was another late drop pretty much less then a minute after Ollies, im guessing he also got pounded!
